Nature Scenes

I frequently feel that objects can be experienced more directly when the background is simplified. I love to let the paint express the idea without too much focus on detail. In these works, I play with color and brushstrokes. In others of the paintings here I focus in on details of nature. They are not strictly speaking landscapes or still life paintings and so I have added them here. I work from reference photographs that I take myself.
